  • Virginia Tech Crisis Management - Jim Satterfield, President/COO, FireStorm
Mr. Satterfield will provide an overview of the incident and inside workings of the crisis management plans in play based on “Lessons Learned,” from Firestorm’s crisis management support provided to Virginia Tech in the immediate aftermath of the 2007 campus shootings.

9:30 to 10 a.m. Break

10 to 11:30 a.m. Concurrent Educational Sessions

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm. Lunch

12:30 to 2 p.m. Concurrent Educational Sessions

2 to 2:15 p.m. Break

  • Living with Terrorism - John Salka, Battalion Chief of FDNY (we apologize for the earlier misspelling)
The New York Fire Department has faced terrorism personally. Battalion Chief
Salka will review the events that the FDNY and New York has faced including the World Trade Center Bombing that killed 343 of his comrades. What it is like living through, and with the fear terrorist attacks on a daily basis, Chief Salka will give his prospective of where FDNY and the city are after these attacks. We must never forget the sacrifice of those who gave their lives.
